That is a cylinder head temp sensor, not coolant temp.

Can the coolant passage be opened up? At that point it should be the same as any other coolant temp sensor.

Is there even a coolant jacket behind there? It's kinda hard to see from that angle. Why don't you just run coolant temp sensors in the normal place and tap the cross over on the opposite side for the other one. Then tie into the water pump heater core hose for the cooling mod.

I want to put my coolant mod there. If this place will work and it's even more out of the way then i'd rather have it just that much more custom.
