Default problem shifting into third

when im at high rpms its like it doesnt exactly want to go into third gear and I was talking with a buddy who has a cobra and he was having the same problem and put a pro 5.0 shifter in and it seemed to solve the problem, but when I bought the car it already had a short shifter in? would that still help or what would be the best way to fix it?

Lol I've had the same problem for about 3 months and I must have posted no less than 6 threads dedicated to it....

The botom line was I found out that MGW's are kinda tricky to get into third and that you have to kinda push the shifter "diagonally" into 3rd and not just move it up relying on the centering springs to get it in....

After doing that I've never had a problem anymore. Try it. At first I've only had the problem at high RPM's too

my stock shifter used to be hard to get into 3rd too but an aftermarket shifter should cure that. with my MGW all u hafta do is push forward and it automatically centers it in 3rd
