collapsed lifter?

Default collapsed lifter?

a 95 crown vic 4.6. i think i have one, after watching some videos its sounds just the same. anyway i can tell which one without replacing them all? the car sat for about a month and then i started it and bam, the car is getting sold i dont wanna drop a ton of money in it. i have the drivers side cam out and took all the lifters out but i cant really tell which one is collapsed?

The easiest way to test them if they are out, bleed them down, and check for slop. once they are bled down you can sqeeze the lifter but there will be spring tension, so there shouldnt be any slop, if there is slop then the lifter is bad. also you might want to look at your chain tensioners, they might be going out. good, luck.

the Easiest way is to put them im a vice and slowly compress them. till they bottom out. but dont do it to fast and do not crank on it when they are bottomed out.
