That's exactly when it happens to me. Any solution to that or is it just a known T-45 thing?

If your clutch is indeed slowly giving away... its better to change the clutch than have your clutch wear away your tranny which is more money. All clutches are not equal as one can have a stock clutch and abuse the crap out of it and last while another can granny shift with highway miles and it crap out. Replacing clutch with a good one and changing the shifter will make your driving experience a pleasure.
Thanks for the input. I drive the car real easy and it does have mostly highway miles, but I'm going to keep an eye on it. If the noise get more noticeable or it slips at all, I'll go ahead and replace the clutch.

I was looking at the King Cobra when the time comes. Seems to hold up better but still be easy for daily driving. I don't really race the car so I have no need for anything to aggressive.

Since I know it does it under those circumstances I found that if I pause slightly going back to 5th it doesn't grind.

I'll have to start doing that if it keeps happening, thanks.

1. I have it too. Sometimes it is worse than other times.

2. I get a whine, that goes away if I touch my foot on the pedal. Pretty sure it's the TOB.

3. If I go 4th then reverse, it usually goes in easy. If not I put it in neutral, let the clutch out, then try again.

4. If I am driving in third, put the clutch in then go to neutral, then try and go
back to 3rd without going into a different gear, it will occaisonally grind. But with usual daily driving, it never grinds.

Just got my GT about a month and a half ago and definately finding the nuaces of the T45...interesting...

The reverse issue is certainly a real problem, not to mention griding if I go into 2nd too aggressively when the trans isn't warm. The one thing that worries me is a studdering I get if I let the clutch out too quick on slow starts, but I think that might be more indicitive of a tune up needed based on issues I had in the Crown Vic.

The whine I get is only when depressing or releasing the pedal, I never here anything when I am in gear. As for the other issues, it just seems that this transmission has a lot of quirks the more I learn about it.
