Default auto to t-56 swap?

well i found a 2001 GT for sale locally for only 3k, but it has an automatic. what would be involved in swapping for a t56? I figured if i'm doing the swap i might as well go to the t-56 right away instead of a t45.

Alot. You would have to swap over the pedal assembly, clutch cable, clutch, flywheel, tranny, crossmember, bypass neutral safety, and im not positive but when i swapped over a 95 gt to a t5 i had to put in a manual ecm.Just get a tuner to adjust shift points and firmness and put a higher stall converter and keep the auto.

Well the things that I can remember off the top of my head on my auto-t56 swap is, dshaft, crossmember, flash/tune, tranny, bellhousing, pedals, bezel, and shifter.
