Default can't figure out what is wrong with my reverse lights

Ever since I have owed my 03 GT mustang, the reverse lights have never worked. Of course I bought it used and by the time I realized they didn't work it was too late to have fixed. But I have bought a new clutch kit, struts, shocks, rotors, and brakes recently trying to narrow down the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also my driver side window sometimes just decides not to work. The motor has been replaced twice but the issue still persists. It occurs mostly in the warmer season but all other switches work ie door locks for both doors, the passenger window from driver side, and the side view mirror switch....help please

I had the same problem with mine. My reverse lights were always on. I ended having to replace the reverse light switch which is on the tranny. Cost me almost $300. Buy the switch and do it yourself if that is the problem. I understand it is easy to replace. Good luck.

can i assume you checked the bulbs? if so i would grab a friend, ground out the reverse switch circuit where is plugs into the tranny to c if the lights come on.

that's probably better off in a new thread.

yea, take a look on the tranny ( not sure exactly where it is located on it but im sure there are diagrams on the web), once you find it unplug the connector and put a paper clip across the pins. This will ground out the circuit, if the light come on then you have a bad sensor. If they still don't come on its time to look elsewhere for your problem.

the fuses have been checked along with the bulbs being replaced numerous times and still no reverse lights. also my car finds it a little difficult even going into reverse sometimes when the car is at a stand still, I have to put it in first and roll forward a bit before it goes smoothly into reverse...

Welcome to a manual transmission. Most of them do this, ones Ive dealt with at work anyway.
