8.8 Rear End Leak Question

Default 8.8 Rear End Leak Question
I have 98 GT with an 8.8 rear end. The rear end is leaking above the passengers side axle out of a small valve. I think this is the overflow valve, but I know for sure the rear end is not over filled. Does anyone have any suggestions why the rear end would be leaking out of this valve?

It is a vent.

overfilled and when the fluid gets hot it expands and blows out the vent.
