Cam ? Motorsport NoN PI
Ok I have motorsport D46 NON PI heads and I want to use XE262AH comp camsPart #. These cams are for PI heads, but the motorsport heads are suposed to outflow stock PI heads by a small margin. Will these work. Does anyone see any potential problems with this, I have been told that the cam gear bolts will need to be changed, but I am talking about valve clearance, timing, or other potential problems if there are any problems? Will these work?

Cams only get you 11 HP, pretty crappy for that much money.

On the subject of the post, I would check the piston to valve clearance before I fired it up. I am assuming that you are using a non PI engine? I do believe this would mean that you have less valve to piston clearance, as the car does have slightly higher compression than a PI car, and I THINK it is in the rotating assembly??
VT or whatever manufacturer you go with should be able to tell you for certian.
BTW I have seen a mag do a non pi engine cam test. They installed virtually all of the PI and non PI cams that comp cams makes. (standard sizes) They did have the pistons flycut though, as they ran some fairly agressive cams.
