Default RE: subframe connectors?

After a lot of research, I am VERY convinced that the Maximum Motorsports full length subframes are among the best of the best. If not THE best out there.

Opinions will vary of course, to each their own favorite manufacturers.

Getting standard sub frames vs. full length sub frames for 99.99% of the public will make zero difference in the real world. My point is that the benefit you get out of standard sub frame connectors is essentially the same as the benefit you would get out of full length subs. I doubt anyone here could tell a difference between the two on the street. A couple other negatives of the Extreme Matrix subs and full lenght subs vs. standard subs is they weigh more and shrink your ground clearance.

but arent the stock subframes on a ragtop really bad? wouldnt it help to get some better subframes under the car? would it help out in a wreck from a side impact more than stock subframes? i do aggressive driving normally when i drive (sharp turns and hard braking and acceleration)

how big of weight difference is there?

sometimes when my stang takes a sharp turn it feels like it wants to kick out the rear end. thats not even with me getting on it. what can i do to get rid of that?

O_o Remind me to stay away from Knoxville!

You should be kinder to your stang, I see too many of them coming into my wrecking yard, all front end collisions I might add!

Personally I would stick with the subs that dont make me loose too much ground clearance, on a lowered stang you dont need to be hangin even lower.

Stock mustangs don't come with subframe connectors. Verts are a different story. Yes, on a vert, It helps a lot more than a coupe. -Almost a necessity on a vert if you plan on racing it. If you want to combat the oversteer you sometimes get coming out of a corner, there are a few things you can do. Just getting some sticky new shoes will help the car a lot. Lower profile tires will help a lot. Lowering your car will help as well, but it will ultimately always come down to your right foot, meaning modulating your throttle correctly.

ORIGINAL: racer02GTstang

which of these sets are the better of the three?

steeda
http://www.stangsuspension.com/store...?idproduct=382

MM
http://www.stangsuspension.com/store...?idproduct=179

stang suspensions
http://www.stangsuspension.com/store...?idproduct=544

Out of the three listed above I would get the MM ones just because they are powdercoated. I have the Steeda full length one on my car and had to paint them.

I have a 2002 Gt vert and it has Maximum Motorsports full lengths on it. They are good; it did help initially with some of the rattles as well. The other thing is, as convertibles age, the doors can begin to not hang as well and have closing issues if the chassis has been under a lot of abuse. The subframes will help you minimize those issues. But I do think the full lengths are worth it. All the companies mentioned are reputable. My shop complained about the amount of weld time they took and actually prefered to install the Kenne Brown ones.

-And if you do subs, make sure you weld 'em in. They could be bolted in, but the benefit is considerably better if they are welded. BTW, I use a full length sub on my 01 S281.

yea, im going to get them welded on instead of bolted... ive got stock ones one there but they look flexible and they are bolted with like 2-4 bolts? dont like em at all. so im getting these instead. i got the bare steel ones but im gonna paint them. getting bare steel cause they are alot cheaper.
