Default changed my intake manifold and big problem appears....

Hi i got a 2002 mustang gt. i changed my intake manifold to the dorman one from oreillys. it seemed if like the intake didnt really line up where the fuel injectors were supposed to go, and it was also blocking up space to put the spark plugs back in. but i managed to just bolt everything down. i start the car and there is a very loud sound, sounds like its coming from the belt, i mean the sound is real loud. what can be causing that. also the rubber hose coming from the throttle body to the left part of the engine is getting sucked like a vacuum. like no air can get in it like its choking what is causing that? could it be from the dorman intake manifold, or maybe oreilly gave me the wrong one? thanks in advance and i really appreciate it.

I just replaced my Intake on my 98 gt yesterday also with the Dorman and it was from O'reillys as well. No problems, just this morning the freakin heater hose popped off. Other than that, alls good.

Dorman is an OEM/after market supplier that's been in business since 1918--there's a real good chance they make the stock intake manifolds (to Ford's specs of course). I'd be willing to bet actual money that their latest 4.6/2V intake is identical to what you would get from Ford...

i have a dorman on mine i felt no power change at all (and its a PI intake just like fords). i do have a problem with the spark plugs though. i can't change my passenger plugs so i'm going to dremmel off some of the excess plastic to get the socket down in there (need to change plugs soon when i get the sc on it). they are probably made to spec and they function fine, but i believe bieng universal for so many vehicles has some SLIGHT fitment issues.

as to your other problems, double check everything. check your alternator since you had to remove that and double check you put the belt on right.
