it sounds more like a bad water pump or a blown head gasket or the 1st casued the latter. If ur heater isnt working its likly due to no coolant flow witch could also be the problem of the over heat situation.
Either way once yo fix it put in a new t-stat most of them dont like to be that hot and will cause over heating problems them self after they have been cooked.

OK i tested the pressure on the freon line with the car OFF and it read in the danger mechanical problems zone.

are you talking R-12, if so a little over 2
