Default Heater Hose Issues

My brother's '00 GT blew a heater hose while driving today. It turns out the plastic sleeve than runs inside the hose to the manifold broke( the fitting near the rear most intake runner.)

Few Questions;

The fitting on the rear of the intake manifold, is it two pieces? It looks to be. If so, how do you remove it?

Will a new OEM heater hose come with a new plastic sleeve? It was late, and auto parts store didn't stock that hose.

I hope I was clear in my attempt to explain the problem. Thanks in advance for any insight.

Mine did the same thing. It's all one piece i believe. You will have to replace the whole intake. Now mine is on a 98 gt, but I don't think there is a difference. Sux!!!

^ Thanks man. Right now, I'm letting the hi-temp epoxy dry on a copper tube that fits into the plastic fitting on the manifold. Hopefully, it will hold. Clamp the heater nose onto the copper, and see what happens.
