I happen to love my '98 GT vert because I think the overall exterior/interior lines work the best together and are perhaps the cleanest lines of that era except for the new '05's. However, I still say the '05 interior is kind of choppy in comparison to the earlier versions. If Ford had just used the quality of materials in the '96-'04's (Cobra's excluded) that it did in the '05's, our interiors would have been far more appealing than the current model. I owned a '67 notchback and '68 2+2 and didn't particularly like the interior or gauge package back then. The '69 Mach I was a different story. It actually was more like the pre '05 interiors with the two rounded pod areas on both driver's and passenger sides. Much more car all the way around. There is something to be said for TOO MUCH retro. I think Ford is trying to make a living on it instead of really designing cars for the 21st century. Right now Chrysler motors is the only U.S. (use the term loosely) car manufacturer that has the ***** with their design staff to bring our auto market into this century. Yes, the '05 Mustang is a great car and far more driver friendly than any of its predecessors. So are the '03 and '04 Cobras. I think Ford, as usual, will probably get the new Mustang "right" by '07 or '08.

PS: If you want a really fine '98 with its clean lines, look into a '98 Cobra. There are some on ebay right now with under 25,000 miles on them. I believe the '98's started life out with 300+ HP. That is at least 35 more HP than any '99 to '04 GT.....AND....the car is much lighter.

A PI swapped 96-98 isnt that slow ya queer. It will keep up or beat all 99-04 GT's mod for mod. Id say it would beat it. So you can take your PI slowness somewhere else.

I am in no way saying i dont believe you, but what is different about the 96-98 after the pi swap. I was just wondering why if u put a 99 intake and heads on a 99, it makes it faster than a 99+. Again not arguing, just wondering
