Default mil eliminator installation question

i just put on an o/r x-pipe and the cel came on so i need to get some mil eliminators to fix it. the problem is when i jack my car up and look at the o2's that are currently plugged in i dont see how i can use the mil eliminators. from each pipe the connectors come together in to an "x" and then split again. i dont understand how the two eliminators could simply plug in. i guess im not as car savvy as i should be to notice what to do and how to do it. if theres something im just missing can you help me out? or is it something funky somebody just did to my car earlier than when i got it. i have pictures if you want me to email and show you. i dont know how to upload them on here. thanks in advance

you use the MIL elims on the last o2 sensors wires ( one blue and the other purple... i think) but the MIL wire gets plugged in between them heres a pic just dont cross the wire
