Changed the fuel filter - Service Engine Soon light?
#12
I've seen this on many vehicles. The code that was thrown was in relation to the lack of fuel, I'm sure.
Easiest way to avoid this when changing your fuel filter is to prime it once the new filter is installed. Turn your key to the KOEO position and back to the OFF position. Allow a few seconds in between turns for your fuel pump to cycle before shutting it down. You hear this every time you turn your key (The loud electric growl in the trunk? This is your pump priming). Do this 2 or 3 times to be certain you have ample fuel pressure in your lines and rails.
I personally do it until the pump sounds normal again.
Just clear the code as said before and go on with your day. Next time prime before you start
lol

I changed my fuel filter this past weekend and ended up with a code from clearing the fuel out of the system. I pulled the fuel pump fuse and cranked it and it somehow had enough fuel already there to start, last time I did this it couldnt start. So I just shut it off and it didnt start the engine the second time. Ended up with a failed fuel pump driver etc etc code from the engine starting without the fuel pump fuse. No biggie, just clear and move on.
