Safe to change???
Okay so I have my '02 GT with 68,000 miles on it. I bought it from a guy who has only put motorcraft 5w20 (Synthetic blend) in it since it was new. I was wondering if it is okay just to switch it over to Mobil full syn. or if i should just stick with what i'm running currently. I'm not asking who makes the best oil.. Just simply wondering if its a wise choice or not to switch from motorcraft syn blend to a full syn 5w20 oil.

You will probably get mixed reviews on this. Some will say full synthetic is a waste of money (it is damn expensive) and some will say it's what keeps an engine going.
Personally, I run mobil 1 full synthetic, and I have 240,000 kms on my engine. I am definitely not an easy driver and the engine hasn't given me any issues at all.

Change it every 6 months or 4K miles, whichever comes first, and it won't make any difference whatsoever. One big benefit to full syn. is the oil change intervals. People who tack on lots of miles quickly can benefit from this as they can get another 2k miles out of a synthetic oil. For most people, it doesn't matter. yes there are some properties of synthetic that make it a superior oil in certain situations where vehicles are ran to extremes, but for most people using synthetic vs conventional is a complete non issue. some people "feel better" about using synthetic though..whatever floats your boat really. as far as changing, that doesn't matter either. You can use a different oil everytime you change it if you want, or you can do half this and half that...doesn't matter.
