Yes, i don't put gas in the car until she is sitting on "E". Just thought it was kind of weird to put a half tank of gas in the car and then be sitting on empty 2 days later, and only getting 140 miles out of my last full tank. But I will fill up tomorrow, get all the numbers and let you guys know everything when I have to fill up again. Once again, how, if at all, can I check if the O2 sensor are working properly? Appreciate the help so far. More to come.

Here is a site that explains how to test the O2 sensor.http://www.mr2.com/TEXT/O2_Sensor.html Did you disable the sensors when you installed the X pipe?

^ well if he didn't then he would have a CEL...which he didn't mention he did so i would assume he doesn't have one.

The front O2's could be going...

"Filled it up" is not standard unit of measure, however to hazard a guess lets say you loaded in 14 gallons (the tank is only 15.4), and therefore got 10 mpg--based upon your description of driving one mile trips that's about all I'd expect...

That is also just about very very worse thing you could do to your poor engine--the front O2 sensors are likely fouled so badly they can't possibly be working properly, and you'll never see a DTC because the drive cycle monitoring never even starts, let alone finish.

If you have been doing this for any great length of time (six months or more) then the engine is likely all sludged up inside as well, because it has never gotten even close to full operating temperature.

You need to take that puppy out and run it for at least 45 to 50 miles, preferably a 100 mile round trip, and do that at least once every two weeks.

I need to think before I write. If I take the short way to work its just over a mile. If I take the long way through base housing, it's about 2 miles to work and I just dont drive only on base. I take my car into town and out on the highway every now and again just like everybody else. So, lets just say I drive the car like any normal person would. I just thought I would post up my problem because when I first got the car back in july of 2009, I swear to you I was getting 250 miles or more on a full tank of gas, which is roughly 17-18 miles per gallon. I know because I would reset my odometer after I filled up. Now I am getting 140 miles on a full tank, 150 miles if im lucky along with the smell of gas coming from the exhaust. So something is wrong. Thanks cliffy for your input, looks like I will be purchasing two new O2 sensors to see if that fixes it. And I also just put a full tank of gas in my car and it took 14.404 gallons until it was full. So I will let everybody know the outcome once I'm on empty again.
