Default Bullitt Motor

So I am looking into acquiring a wrecked bullitt, and swapping the drive train into my v6. ( I had been looking at doing a GT/5.4 swap with a wrecked GT and found a bullitt) I realize the work involved and all that but having a bullitt motor would be kind of cool, since its a 1 year car (well the 2v version is).

ANYWAYS, are most of the mods for the GT 4.6 the same for the bullit. basically the bullitt has a different intake right? Ive tried searching and didnt come up with anything. I ask this because for the most part you dont see many specific bullitt parts, but then there is an underdrive pulley specifically for it. I was thinking a mild streetable cam, and maybe some head work, trying to keep it looking close to a bullitt looking exterior, but having a little more go. So is there a resource for mods of the bullitt motor?

Other mods to the parts swap would be 3.55s into the Rear, and probably different springs to bring the car close to the height I have now with my roush v6 springs.

As far as I know, only the intake and addition of underdrive pullies are different on the Bullitt engine from the standard PI 4.6 litre. Also, the rear end on the V6 is different (7.5 I believe) so you'll need to swap that as well.

I'd swap the whole suspension along with the motor and tranny, so it doesn't handle like a turd and only go fast in a straight line.

It is only the intake that differs AFAIK, I think the UDPs are specifically broken out because all the Bullitts had the short nose water pump.

You don't have to replace the rear with an 8.8 GT rearend. Your 7.5 will work but it would be a good idea to upgrade it anyway.

Oh Id be taking the rear end out of the bullitt as well, as it was a front impact mostly. Suspension wise I would take all of it, though I think I would like it lower, so maybe go with C springs, or Roush v8 springs. but use the shocks and struts instead of the fox body ones Im running now.

So basically its the water pump and the intake that differs, all the internals are the same as the GT, so the upgrade GT cams, heads, etc should fit fine.

I think you're set! I'm not sure if there's any hairy computer issues to contend with, though.

If you decide you don't want those Bullitt gauges, holler!

The water pump is the same as all 2001-1/2+ GTs--it's only the intake that differs...
