2002 gt spoiler question
im a big fan of the cobra lip but i know getting the actual lip/painted is a pain, and then you have to get holes filled by body shop ect. or finding a cobra decklid is a pain as well.
does anyone know a place that makes a decent looking spoiler for the back that somewhat resembles the cobra one?

There is a site I forgot which one that sells an aftermarket lip spoiler that pretty much looks just like the 03 Cobra one, just without the 3rd brakelight. Your best bet is to patiently wait for a 03-04 part out and try to ****** up the wing before any one else does. Usually the sellers don't like to seperate it from the trunklid because without the wing, the trunklid is almost worthless. Here's one on eBay right now:

I have an 04 Cobra wing on my car and I used some "nylon locking plugs" from the Home Depot to cover up the two exposed stock spoiler holes in the front. I primered them and painted them black to match my car.
I'm actually trying to go wingless right now and a wingless trunklid seems to be even harder to find...

Yeah the cobra knockoff wing is sold by abcexclusive.com. I've been thinking about getting one myself. Yeah the 3rd brakelight def looks better on the wing... but it still looks better than any other new edge wing, they are all so ugly.
Issue is depending on your state laws it might not be legal to have the missing brakelight, luckily I live in FL.
I photoshopped a yellow cobra to see what it would look like on my zinc yellow GT
Here is another one I found on the net.

Wouldn't it be possible to get the abc piece and then get the third taillight "assembly" and just mount it into the spoiler? I suppose it all depends on whether the third light costs too much. I might just have to give my local dealer a call just to find out.

I seriously doubt it, you would have to use a dremel or something to cut a hole and I'd figure the inside of the authentic cobra wing has some sort of backing that is molded of urethene to help hold it in place besides a couple screws. I dunno, don't think it is as simple as you think.

I don't think it would be worth it. That knockoff Cobra wing is a bit over $200 shipped and we're talking over $100 for a new 3rd brakelight assembly from Ford. Plus the fab work. Mightaswell just wait to find an authentic one which seems to go for around $300-350.
Or find me a great condition black 99-04 wingless trunklid and I might be willing to trade mine lol
