Default Intake Valve hit pistons with different valves?

I got a 97 GT and just put 2000 gt heads on it and the valve were hitting the pistons on the drivers side only. and we thought it was out of time but the valve were just barely hitting the pistons and not looking at the intake valves on the drivers side the is maybe a 1/8" lip on the dish and the passanger side doesn't have that. so is it out of time on that one side or is it just the make of valve that is making them hit the pistons?

Sounds like the timing IS off. Did you put the cahins on correctly?

We lined up everything, so it should be in time.

My buddy just did the swap and put the chains on wrong and bent like three valves and broke some others. So having the chain or the cam slightly off positioned will definetly make the valves hit.

sounds like you timing is off, if it is only doing it on one side. if it wasn't the timing then it would happen on both heads.

Bingo! Sounds like you had one cam turn on you before the chain went on. You are probably off a couple of teeth.
