How to remove wires from this damn electrical connector?
So i'm disassembling my passenger side cobra mirrors to have them repainted and I need to remove the wires from this electical plug so I can route it through some small holes and disassemble everything.
People have said all you do is remove the gray locking piece thingy and the pins should just slip right out. Well I've removed that gray thing but the wires won't come out. I can feel that they are loose and I've tried to put a bit of muscle in it but it won't come out. I didn't wanna pull too hard to rip apart the wires.
Does anyone know how to deal with this?
Thanks

I would have to see it. But each socket has a hook which has to be depressed usually with a tool. Once the tab is depressed, the socket slides out. Unless they molded the connector on then I think its on for good. But look closely down the sides of those sockets for the tabs which spring out and hook them in.

look down the face of the connector, where the 3 pins are exposed. You need to get in there with a fine pick and pop up the little plastic tabs holding each wire in to the plastic connector. All ford harnesses are like this. The gray plastic is a locking mechanism, but each wire has a small tab you gotta reach in and pop each individual one out

Okay i'm looking down the face of the connector and I don't see any plastic tabs...all I see are the metal square shaped pins...I tried using a small metal dental pick to push up and down on all the metal pieces but nothing is working.
