Default Starting Issues???

Hello All,

This morning I tried starting my car and the starter kept clicking but not starting. It wasn't turning the motor over or anything. I went to the auto parts store and had them give me a new battery and same thing. I then replaced the Starter and everything worked great. Later on today I drove home from work and shut down the car and then retried and I got the same issue with the starter just clicking and not turning over the motor. Any ideas???? I did a search and someone was saying the ground strap may be a problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Steve

It could be, the main battery-to-block ground connects to the block just aft of the oil filter--it has been know to come loose. It could also be any of the starter relay, transmission sensor (detects that the tranny is in park or neutral), or the ignition switch.

Here's the starter wiring diagram from the '03 shop manual, your car is the same...

sounds like a ground issue... but check them all if not.

Thanks guys. Ever since I unhooked the battery for the night I haven't had any issues. I was thinking it might be a grounding issue as well so thank you for the link.
