shaking steering wheel?

RE: shaking steering wheel?
This is either a bent rim or a belt separation in the tire. You can change the location of the faulty wheel tire combo or go to a tire shop and have them turn tire on the balance machine by hand. This will allow you to see the tire roll and hopefully be able to see where the fault lies.A belt separation doesn't always show itself untill it's loaded like it's on the car.The Ford dealer where I bought my car has a balancer that loads the tire with 800 lbs of force and they say this type of machine will show things like hidden defects in tires.

Go for an alignment and balance first. Take it to a good shop to have them do this, as a good balance can offset slightly bent rims. IF this is happening mostly when braking, have your rotors cut.

i have the same probelm with my car. i just go new tires put on it and had the alignment checked and they said it was good. on mine it shakes when just cruising but it gets worse when you brake.

^^^ Thats exactly how mine is, i have a aligment rack at school, and i know how to use it, so the aligment is right on, i balanced the tires(at school) & and i turned the rotors. so i dont know what is could be.
