led tail light bulb resistor question

led tail light bulb resistor question
so i bought some LED bulbs for the tail lights to compliment the sequential turn signals. i knew they might require resistors, but i bought the LEDs separate first to see how they'd react. i plugged them in tonight, and they wouldn't turn on at all. so it looks like i need resistor kits.
first question. the website says that for turn/tails, the bulbs will simply fash quickly if no resistors are installed. the LEDs didn't light up at all when i installed them. should the resitors fix this problem? i tried putting them into the reverse light also, still no luck.
second question, this diagramis a little foggy about where the hot wire splices into. our rear tail lights are dual filament, 3157 bulbs. do i attach the positive wire of the resistor to the wire going to the bulb that is hot when the parking light is on, or the wire that is hot when the brake light/turn signal is hot? it looks like the latter, but i just wanted to confirm with people that have done this.
third, even superbrightleds.com says that you can buy resistors at radio shack, but i couldn't find any. as soon as i typed "6 ohm, 150 watt" into ebay, it immediately came up with kits like the one that superbrightleds.com has, but they're more expensive. i have 6 bulbs i need to throw resistors in, and i really don't want to have to place an order for $30 in resistors on top of my $171 order of light bulbs. anyone have any idea of where i can find the proper resistors to build my own kit?
finally, if i do wind up just buying the kits, the ebay ones seem expensive ($9 a piece). the ones on superbrighleds.com are $4.99 a piece, which is more reasonable. does anyone know of anywhere cheaper, or somewhere that gives a bulk discount?
