i've seen a sixxer turbo'd, definately a unique experience. it was a custom homebrew kit, and it had the welds to prove it! lol they were horrible looking. ran good, but guy only pulled a 13.2 at the track on i think 11lbs of boost.
where do you plan on getting a kit? what is your experience with stangs and/or turbo's? do you plan on having a shop do the install? how deep are your pockets?
turbo's require a bit more attention to detail than say a supercharger IMO. they're more likely to go south if you get a cheapo chinese peice, and doing regular oil changes a bit more often then you might be used to. also giving the car more time to warm up in the mornings to get that oil flowing and making sure you let the car idle after a long pull (or buy a turbo timer).
keep in mind that its not just a simple "bolt on" you'll have to also get a tune, new fuel injectors, new spark plugs, new fuel pump(s), probably a new MAF. oh and this thread probably should have been posted in the V6 section. this is the SN95 4.6L section.

Hey thanks Um actually im a mechanics daughter but really dont know much about turbos my fiance just bought a 3,000 gt vr4 & has the spare turbos that he wants to put on my mustang...I wont be having a shop do it cause my fiance & his friends work on cars so they'll probably be the ones putting it on.
Yeah I knew I would a tune, & all that what im doing right now is saving up til I can get a new exhaust also cause before I do anything I wana make her breathe better
You said it was only running 13.2? was it a v6?
Im really not sure if I want to get a new engine or keep the v6 yeah know? I been thinking of a whole bunch of possibilities & i've thought about what my mans said but I just really want more insight on what im doing & more advice so thanks!

yea, he was pushing something like 330 to the rear wheels. the v6's are pretty stout and if i remember right can handle about 380-400 rwhp before you have a ticking time-bomb.
i'd say drop a cobra motor in, or any 4v, then boost the crap out of it, but they are expensive. the GT motor is only good to about 450 rwhp before it grenades (ask me how i know ) so honestly, if you want in the high 300's for rwhp (more than plenty for a first time turbo car) stick with the 6'er and see what you can get out of it. it'll be pretty unique/rare thats for sure.
i'm not sure how the VR4's turbo's would run on a v6, but i'm definately sure they're a bit small for a GT. you'll be better off with 1 single turbo, than 2 turbo's. it wont spool as quick, but it'll make better numbers, and with that v6 you'll want everything you can get. guy that was running the mentioned v6 was running a 62mm or 67mm, i forget.
i'm not the expert on v6's so you're prolly better off heading to the v6 section or waiting till an admin moves this over to the 6'er section or the boost/juice section... also check out theturboforums.com there's a ton of info over there about turbo stuff, some stuff is stang specific, but alot of it is general stuff.
