T56 Magnum Swap help?

T56 Magnum Swap help?
So maybe some of you remember a month or so ago I started in on swapping a T56 Magnum into my Cobra. Well after lots of delays, I finally got some help again from a mechanic, and we managed to get it bolted up within a couple hours after some minor issues. Well now we have even more issues.
First off, we can't get the transmission jacked up high enough to bolt the crossmember in. The thing that is holding us back is that the shifter plate on this transmission is longer than the T45, and uses 6 bolts instead of 4. The front two bolts on it are hitting the bottom of the car before we can get the tranny up high enough. Has anyone else ran into this problem, and what did you do to fix it?
The second problem we have is that we can't get the clutch cable connected to the fork without having a lot of tension on it. Obviously some is expected, but even the mechanic helping me isn't comfortable with the amount it would take right now. Again, has anyone else ran into this, and what did you do? Is there a different cable other than stock that I should get?

I have a T-56 swap thread that may be of some help here, but the shifter bolt issue does not sound right
For the cable, we had a similar issue and ended up machining a spacer to address it, as the OEM cable was not adjustable. Don't know if this will help, but hopefully so.

Thread's a few months old, I know, but did you ever come up with a solution to your T-56 clearance issues? I'm having the same problem with the forward shifter bolts. I think I can cut some sheet metal and do some persuasion with a dead-blow hammer to make things work, but I'm wondering what you came up with.
I'm working with Bruce at Modern Driveline on the issue, and he says there shouldn't be any clearance issue here. He's still doing a lot of checking, but I'm trying to see if this is something anyone else has seen the issue and come up with a solution.
Note that this is going in a 2000 V6. I think we have all of the bell-housing, clutch, flywheel issues figured out. Now if we could just get the thing to fit in the car!
Thanks!

Funny.... I keep hearing issues of clearance with the T-56, but had zero myself. I don't know why, as my car should be exactly the same as yours, so makes no sense. Sounds like either your motor is in a slightly different location, relative to the GT or, no offense, maybe your missing something

Yeah we had to cut and hammer a bit to get those shifter bolts to clear but it wasn't too bad to get it to fit and look good. Just as an update to this though I still don't have a driveable car.. since I'm working in PA for a while now I'm having cry performance in norwalk finish it over the winter
