If you're going to replace the COP's, check...of all places...Amazon.com for Accel Supercoils. I picked up a set for my 01 Bullitt for about $165.

Well im going to use this as a example from a past problem I had with my Corvette.(I know its not a Mustang ) but this is what happen.
I had a misfire when corvette would get warm but not when car was cold.

Now for the reason it was missing when hot was the fuel injectors would fail under hot condition because the coils in injectors would drop in ohms and not spay.
This could be the same problem you are having with your COPS.
They are working good when cold but maybe failing somewhat under heat.

heat on electronics make them act funny, specialy solid state electronics.
Just wanted to state this could be what is happening to your COPs under heat or load.
They are coils and so arent fuel injectors in a way ( solenoid is anyways) could be a problem your having.
Coil power drops under heat.?

Just my 2

it looks like its gona cost me 90$ just for pepboys to diagnose the problem, greeat lol so what would be the best way for myself to just test the COP's myself to find the faulty one?

its throwing a #5 code first right? replace #5 and go from there, dont pay pepboys to touch your car please. Replace the known problem coil first and go from there. Like I said before one bad coil will cause others to go screwy from bad rf signals and whatnot

well lads the problem is solved replaced cylinder #5's COP and bang! instantaneous the CEL went away and by god no more misfire and to my surprise no more hesitation or "hiccup" when i accelerate hard, i didn't know thats what was causing my car to kinda hesitate for a split milisecond when i was pushing it, im so happy this fixed 2 problems not just one! thanks guys i couldn't be happier right meow! i did a pull on the highway up to 100mph and felt amazing no more "hiccup" and perfect acceleration and timing, im beyond happy with it, feels like a totally different car with that hiccup gone! thanks again guys, i can't say it enough!

I learned several years ago with my expedition that when it started missing, the first thing to check are the COPs. These things will run you in circles trying to figure it out. Better off just to replace and move on like WhitefoxGT said. Glad you found the issue....no you know.
