Default tire pressure

Hey everyone,

I have a 1990 GT with 91-9316 inch five star pony rims, and Futura GTX II tires (P 245 / 50 R 16), what is the recommended tire pressure? Since the 90 mustangs came with the 15" wheels (i think) I shouldn't go by the sticker in the passenger door. If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it.... thanks

Default tire pressure

pretty much any car on the road is recommened to have like between 30 and 35 psi. the only that really makes exceptions to this is like big trucks and if you plan on racing the mustang u go with a lower psi. nothing to it really. i run the normal 32 psi in my car..

If you really want to know how much pressure to run in the tires:
1) Get a big piece of chalk and draw a heavy line across the tread of each tire.
2) Drive a short distance.
3) Stop the car and check the line.
....a) If the line is erased across the entire tread you have the correct pressure.
....b) If the line is erased in the center of the tread you've over-inflated.
....c) If the line is erased on the inside/outside of the tread you've under-inflated.

I guess no one has needed to put the correct amount of air in their tires for 10 years... the correct air pressure you use is dependent on vehicle weight, tire profile, and tire composition... not a sticker on the door or a sentence in the owner's manual.

It's because of replies like this that I usually read the Mustang forums for amusement and contribute to the Jeep Forums.

I don't think he did it to be an '*******' I think he seriously is a noob that doesn't know better, and probably bored to boot that he was even looking at posts that old. I have seen some old posts resurrected for no good reason, but 10 years old??? wow...

Hate to belabor the point and breathe even more life into this zombie, but yeah, he was being an ******* on purpose after getting butt-hurt when he revived this other relic thread, probably as you said innocently enough - https://mustangforums.com/forum/4-6l...windows-2.html - Sonic Mustang hurt his feewings so he went and dug up about 7 more threads from 2003 "in retaliation" after accusing Sonic Mustang of engaging in ungentlemanly behavior with 3 family members.

I was butt hurt : ( But then I thought doing a little research like I was told to do would be fun. So I looked at the first couple post ever. Wanted to make sure the thread police had something to do in between coffee breaks. I hate the every day "What should I do first mod" or "what gear is best if it is a daily driver" but I don't pull out my electronic ***** and slap them. I just look at a different thread. Peace, love and twisties.
