I had a friend turn the wheel back and forth while looking underneath and I can clearly see the rack moving in conjunction with the clicking/popping sounds. Order new bushings? Or am I in need to perform the orders in the TSB that was previously posted? (thank you btw)

I'm on post (Fort Riley), no lathe or vice to use a hacksaw at the shop where I installed the LM1s. (TSB).

Thoughts?
11-bullet stopper eh? I was mech inf back in the late 80s early 90s mostly at Cartoon.

It does sound like the major problem is the rack bushings. I had mine fixed at the dealers under warranty so I don't know the whole process, but I am sure cliffy has a good writeup on it or check the HOWTOs on here,

Thanks for your service!

You dont have a hobbyshop there on Fort Riley? I thought most installations did...MAybe you know someone in the motor pool?

If not, then if you can make it to a ford dealer you should be able to get the correct updated part(s) for that rack. But it sounds like you have the same problem CliffyK wrote that article about,, so at least you are on the right course. Perhaps while you're there you could replace those rack bushings too, with some nice poly bushings.....sharpen things up a bit! Tell us how you get on with it, and sorry for the threadjacking.

Thank you all for your responses and time. It was a big help.
Just bought this car and seems I'm finding more problems everyday. But will all be worth it in the end.
(side note) just think I busted an engine mount. Fml. Haha

Bullet stoppers is what we do. I have been fortunate (and well trained) and been on the giving end and not the receiving end. Just got back from deployment.
