so far i've been running castrol edge syntec 5w20 every 5k and a motorcraft filter. I will never use anything other than a motorcraft filter. Parts guys at my work got a bunch of brands of filters from autozone, fram and wix included, and the motorcraft filter looked much "thicker" and looked like it would deff filter more than anything else.
agreed good article and never heard of that and i got a royal purple filter as well and its thicker than all the other ive seen!

the thing they did at my work did not include royal purple or k&n filters, I'd imagine those would be good, but they're usually more than double the price of a motorcraft and not sure if they'd be worth it.

i personally used Schaeffer's oil 15w 40 in all my race quads, 400ex, 89' 250r, 86' 250r, yfz450, 660 raptor, 450r and all my vehicals up til the point we stopped buying it by the drum. i still run either 10w 40 or 15w 40 of M1 in my current rides and run it year round. never any trouble and i beat everything i drive.

Like I just said, full syn every 3-5000 miles on my Blown Vert. And I finally found out why my car would stop excelerating at redline in 5th. I was running her up to redline in 4th to 122mph, would shift into 5th, exspecting more acceleration, but she'd fall flat, nothing would happen. I found out the A/F ratio would suddenly go super rich on me once I shifted into 5th, it was at 17-1!!!!! I got her back on the dyno, now she runs about 11.5-1 across the board. Now I can bury the speedo @150mph in 5th gear @4300rpm, and she still pulls. I only did that once, it was some scary ****, I ain't gonna do it again!

Damn Piledriver, Good thing you didn't run it to long like that. Would have made some nice holes in your pistons. And yes you were real lean NOT rich.

You guys are correct, of course. I meant the other way around. My bad... anyway, she's at 11.5 -1 now.

Big Paxton2000 on a Cobra shortblock/with all forged internals. See my sig. Blew the original piece of crap motor a couple years ago. That 4300 rpm @ 150 in 5th was wrong. I did it again today and the rpm is more like 4700. I had tears in my eyes yesterday and could hardly read the tach. I wore shades today... remember, I have a 'Vert, lol! That was definetely the last time I do that though, really!
