Default Fuel Pump Problem

The fuel pump on my car is not working. I have disconnected the line at the tank and no fuel is coming out. I don't hear the pump turning on. I hooked a fuel pump up from a junk yard and it turned on for a second and then shut off. I submerged it in a bucket of water and it wouldn't turn on either. Both of the pumps could be bad or its another problem. I'd hate to buy a $200 fuel pump for nothing. I saw this "run a 12v lead from the battery, back to the inertia switch. if the FP doesnt kick on, its dead." If someone could tell me where to wire into the inertia switch it could help.

When the key is turned on to accessory the pump will only come on for a second to prime the system. When cranking the pump will come on and stay on. You can run a 12V wire staright to the pump to eliminate it, but if you dont hear the pump in the tank come on at all, id say you need to change it.
