Default Question on Exhaust

I have to do a senior project for school and I am putting an x-pipe and cat-back exhaust on my 1996 mustang. I am going to keep this car while im in college. i will drive another car. Neways i eventually want to swap the motor out for a cobra or mach 1 motor. Will this new exhaust bolt up to the new motor and headers. Since everything is the same on 1996 through 2004's i think??????

what combination of xpipe and catback sounds the best on a 1996?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

thank you

john

Default RE: Question on Exhaust

exhaust clips won't help you decide. clips don't do a setup justice. H gives you the deepest and loudest tone. X gives you a deeper and louder tone over the stock H, but sounds better than an aftermarket H at WOT. as for catbacks, magnaflow if you want near stock sound at idle, but loud and deep when you get on the gas. loudmouth 1s for the absolute loudest you can get, loudmouth 2s for really loud and really deep, flowmasters for a really deep and really loud chambered muffler, but sounds like *** at higher RPMs. just depends on what ya want.
