Default Need advice on a shifter and shift kit

I have a 1997 GT convertible with a automatic transmission and what to know what a good shifter and shift kit would be and if anyone had any experience with them or tips.

I thought my xcal II did a pretty good job making the tranny improved. try it first if you haven't, and then a shift kit would be the next level though.

If you are going to be at or close to 400rwhp I touls get a shift kit and a now torque convertor with a higher stall. Get a stall around 3200 or so and as far as shift kits go I love my Trans-go kit. I am not sure whay you would need to change you shifter for unlsee you are going to a full manuel valve body which in that case I don't think you will need a shift kit. Talk to your local performance shop and see what they suggest for your trans. Is this goint to be a track car, or a daily driver that goes to the track every now and then?
