Default Replacing thermostat on 99 GT

I have searched and searched but I can't find the answer to this question. When replacing the thermostat, is there a gasket or some type of sealant that should be placed on the thermostat housing when re-attached? I know there is the O-ring but is this the only gasket?

It just has an O ring.................And if your manifold is still the stock all plastic one, I wouldn't suggest changing the thermostat unless it is absolutely neccesary.

The car threw up it's anitfreeze earlier this week and I'm trying to eliminate anything simple that I can do before having to take her to the shop.

The stock manifold was replaced a few years ago. Not because it cracked but becuase I was paranoid about it cracking and had it done.
