4.6 oil leak! Please help
I have a 1995 4.6 in my Thunderbird. I have a bad oil leak, that looks like it's coming from the oil filter adapter. Is this piece bolted on with a gasket? I am wodering if the gasket is blown. I have 145,000 miles on the engine. Runs very strong and this is the only leak.
When I clean up the oil around the area and start the car, I look at the area where the sending unit is screwed in. There is an allen head bolt beside that on a boss. The oil runs down the back of the adapter and gathers on this boss, and drips down to the crossmember. It is significant, and I hope it can be repaired easily! can anyone help? I hope I didn't buy a bad car! Thanks!
