Default Pypes high-flow cats vs o/r

I currently have the Mac o/r ProChamber with super 40 series flows, stock headers.

Would the Pypes catted h-pipe be quieter than the o/r ProChamber? I would actually prefer it to be quieter because on the highway going 65+ the drone is so loud it feels like I'm just getting back from a rock concert every time. The ProChamber does sound incredible just going around town though.

Yes cats will tame it quite a bit.

^+1, the PO of my car had installed pretty much that same setup--but with an o/r H-pipe. It was noisy as Heck and advertising something a bolt-on GT cannot deliver.

I first installed a UPR catted X-pipe which improved the drone a lot, to finally kill it I lost the FlowMaster chambered mufflers and installed a pair of MagnaFlow straight-thrus...

What about hi-flow cats? Would they still quiet down that sound/drone? I have not used hi-flow cats before but the kit i'm looking at comes with them.

They will quiet the exhaust quite a bit (my UPR X has so-called "high-flow" cats) and reduce the drone as well, however most of the drone is a harmonic effect between the mufflers and the cabin volume--different mufflers (almost anything except the Flowmaster 40s) will reduce the drone, however it will always be there to some extent.

The real cure would be to relocate the mufflers as done on the '05+ models--though there really isn't much space available to do that on our cars...

you will still have drone with the flows with any midpipe. X, H, catted, o/r, doesn't matter. Go with one of the straight-through design muffs. Most of them can be louder under WOT, but actually not all and they have so much less drone when cruising, not to mention you'll gain a couple extra top end ponies over any chambered muff. I highly recommend SLP Powerflo if you have the loot. They are very tame for a straight-through muff.

I actually had thought about this, but they would have to cut into it right? I wouldn't mind if they did have to, but I just want to make sure it doesn't cause problems

I will be planning to get Pacesetter Long tube headers along with a catted BBK X-pipe. (I may do the BBK catted H instead since I think the H sounds better than the X on a 2v)

Anyone have comments or known issues/fitment issues before I start making plans for this? Only thing I know of for now is dropping the k-member and jacking the engine up, as opposed to lifting the engine.
