Default SCT tuner problems

I have had an SCT SF3/X3 handheld flash tuner for about a year now.

Whenever I tune the car it changes the way my auto trans acts. Under just light acceleration, the car doesn't want to shift until I completely let go of the gas or it climbs all the way up to 3k revs. When I use the custom tune and slowing down from 35 mph, it downshifts but jerks very hard. When I use the Strategy Tune, it doesn't do this - but it does change the way it shifts when accelerating.

Is this what it's supposed to feel like? Anyone with the tuner+auto tranny got input? I have gone through several tunes with BAMA (AmericanMuscle.com) and none of the tunes seem to help this.

NewEdgeStang,

I'm sorry to hear about the issue your experiencing. We do make the shift points pretty aggressive on the Automatic Trans Cars. However the great thing about our free tunes for life program is that we will send you as many adjustments as need be until its perfect for your daily driving habits!

It sounds like you just like the stock shift points table a little bit better, so let me get in you in direct contact with my head tuning specialist Mike Wilson! Shoot me a PM with your contact information included and I'll have him contact you this afternoon.

Hang in there, You'll be enjoying your tunes in no time!

-Dan

I purchased a Bama Tuner for my 07 GT. I put the performance tune on the car. It ran great at ideal. Turned it off for maybe 1 to 2 hrs, came back started it, didnt run to good at ideal. Took it down the rode and the wrench light came on. I pulled over and tuned it to stock and runs fine. What could be the problem?

Luckert,

This sounds pretty odd, Have you checked the code yet? Since when you switched back to stock, it sounds like there's a small mistake in the tune. We send out thousands of tunes and build them all from the ground up for your PCM code and your mods. They're not just "canned" tunes, they're built custom by our team, so every once in a while it's possible we mess one up! We'll definitely get it straightened out for you, though if this is the case! Give one of our Bama Tuning Specialists a call and they'll work with you to figure out exactly what's going on.

Our Bama Performance tuning specialists are here in the building Monday-Friday from 9AM-5:30PM EST and Saturday 9AM-5:30PM EST

Try 5 star tuning in effingham SC. Mike always hooks me up with a good tune.

I got my tunes to work. I had to remove an air reducer in my cold air tub. A little plastic tube made all the problems.
