Dynomax Super Turbos VS. Magnaflow
I have made several attempts at searching info, before asking this question. I have an '02 GT with the only mod being a CAI. I would like to replace the OEM mufflers for a little better sound, but do not want, or need the unwanted resonance at ANY rpm/speed.
I have used Dynomax S.T.'s on my '01 F150 w/ the 5.4L engine. It sounds good without the problematic drone. Has anyone used both the magnaflow (non-magnapack) and a Dynomax S.T. on the same car? (4.6 GT) If so, which one was the loudest at 1500, 2000, 2500, and 3000 RPM's? Was there any annoying drone?
Thanks, T

I have not used both, but do have the Magna flows on my car now with a MAC o/r Pro chamber and there is no drone at all at any speed. It is very quiet, just a little louder that stock when cruseing, but has a great sound when you get on the gas!! Hope this helps you some.

Have you ruled out flowmaster completely? I have a 97 gt with dual flowmasters..... idles quiet, cruises quiet, and when you romp on it it gives it a throaty roar. I like um. Don't know much about the magnaflows.
Have a great one

Flowmasters are synonymous with drone. I have a an O/R X-pipe and magnaflow catback (not the packs) and I love it. Nice calm idle... deep. Sounds great at about 2500rpms still deep and throaty... And screams at 5000 rpms. A little poppy in the down shift from high rpms... but thats the O/R X. No drone at any rpm. Actually after I had the 3.73's installed it puts me at an rpm when at about 70-75 mph where I hardly hear my exhaust at all. Prettty sweet for those long 2+ hour rides.

Flowmasters do really drone pretty back. Last owner put a Flowmaster cat-back on my 04 GT, drones something awful at 80+ in 5th gear, which is about 2000-2100 RPM.

I have Magnaflows and really liked them. They weren't very loud though. I recently added the o/r h-pipe and now they are wide awake...and so are my neighbors. I'm in the Army and get up pretty early for pt in the morning. Needless to say, I'm the neighborhoods early wake-up call. I'm not a total @#$hole. I generally try not to get on it until I've cleared the residential area and get into town.

Thanks for the input. The shop that does my exhaust work suggested Magnaflow (non-Magnapack) mufflers. Zack thinks the Magnaflow would be the quietest on my GT. Zach usually installs Flowmaster on 'Stangs. I do not like their performance, or sound. Everyone in my area runs Flowmaster.
I have ran Dynomax Super Turbo's on three trucks, so I thought they would sound good. Unfortunately, Zack has never used Super Turbo's, only the Race mufflers.
