Default Belt Problem

Just for the record i have a 2001 Roush. So i was driving home from college and i happened to go through a rather deep puddle of water (about a foot) so my battery light went on....So i told myself that after i crossed the bridge George Washington, NYC) i would pull over and check things out. About a mile before a HUUGGGEEE cloud of steam arose out of my hood and through the vents and i immediately pulled over into the shoulder in the pouring rain. So i pop the hood and let all the steam just pour out and I happened to have a flashlight when i realized there was coolant everywhere. I checked the coolant reservoir and noticed it was empty. I then realized there was a small tear in the radiator hose. As i looked more thoroughly at the engine i noticed the belt was not on the alternator pulley. I located the belt and noticed it was not ripped, just off and loose. I knew then and there i would need somethin to tighten the tensioner. So i had the car towed to my buddies cadillac dealership. Now my question is 1) How does the belt go back on? 2) What do i need to use for the tensioner??? Any help at all is greatly needed, I intend on making a trip back to connecticut friday night so i need it done tomorrow...thanks again
