Default No oil pressure on cold start.

Oil level is fine. Only on cold start. Once I give it a bit of gas, it jumps up to where it should. Any suggestions on what to check?

Oil pressure switches are well known for going bad on 4.6s. I had them same issue as you with my 01 GT. Turned out to be the oil pick-up was full of junk and became totally blocked. Luckily, I had the radio off and was only two blocks from the house when the engine started knocking bad. I ended up replacing the oil pump and pick-up and never replaced the oil pressure switch.

Awesome, thanks. Since I JUST had the motor rebuilt no more than 5K miles ago. The car, as well as all the accessories on it, are at damn near 200K miles. I'm beginning to lean more towards a bad switch. I wonder if this is something I should do aftermarket in order to have a more accurate reading, even though I HATE gauges all over the place.

However, why would it do it only when it's cold if it's a bad switch?
