Default CAM CHANGE

Does any one have some figures on what price i would be lookin at if i went with a new cam on my 97 cobra i know it pricey but exactly how much, and are there any brands that you guys prefer.

You need 4 of um so I'm gonna guess it could be arounf the 1000 range. Install will be another 500 or so. Those are very rough estimates but in the ball park.

Brands: Comp Cams and VT cams are nice. Brands don't matter as much as the specs on the cam though.

yeah i saw an add in MM&FF and for a Cobra since you have 4 cams its about $1000 bucks and those were for COMP. not sure hom much the install would run ya though.

most quality shops will charge you $900 labor just for removing/re-installing both heads on the 4.6 that is NOT counting removing/replacing the cam shafts in each head of your 2v

he has 4v its a cobra not a GT, you dont have to remove the heads unless you are puting in new valves and valve springs.

i was told to swap cams on a 2v gt that it would be $1000 for the cams and install. so on a 4V its atleast $1000 just for the cams and probably 600-800 for install

that sounds about right then..and yep at LEAST $1000 for the cams. look on ebay, you can find quite a few for around 5-600 per pair brand new.
