Speedometer quit on me

about a month ago, my odometer stopped working, and last night i hit about 55 and my speedo stuck there. any suggestions?

also, is it at all possible to put a 99 or newer speedometer in my 97? or is it not even worth it?

I figured it wouldnt work since the pickups for the speedo are different... with that being said, i can get my hands on a 97 Cobra cluster with a 160 speedo and 6800 redline tach for dirt cheap... would that plug right in, or would I need to modify any wiring?

Your speedo gear will have to be changed. Also find out exactly why the speedo doesnt work before you get a new cluster. The problem may not be in the cluster.
