Default PI heads?

what is the difference between PI heads and stock heads on a 2V 4.6 for an 04 GT?

99-04 GT's have PI heads and 96-98 GT's have NPI heads

The heads are the same for your car. 96-98 Gt's have the non-pi heads.

You arent answering his question. He wants to know the difference between the two not what years have it. Unfortunately, I can't answer it. I just know they're power improved, but I dont know how they did it. Widened the valves, diff cams, hell if i know.

There is no difference between the two....an 04 GT has PI heads

well there is a big diffrence the npi heads on 96-98 gt's
and the 99-04 pi heads is that
npi heads suck and dont flow as well
as pi heads
i believe the pi heads flow alot better

Ok, his car has the PI heads so he will not benefit from changing his to the same thing. They come on 99-04 Gt's. The 96-98 Gt's do not have PI heads. Unless those PI heads are ported/poished, you got them already.

so then upgrading the 99-04 heads would be to port and polish them? i understand that polishing smoothes out the valves for better airflow instead of machined coarse metal, so what is porting exactly?
