Default Suspension recommendation for 01 cobra

My friend has a near stock 01 cobra and he is looking to improve his suspension before doing any major power mods. I have no idea really the difference between the IRS and the live axle so could you guys recommend him something. I imagine springs/shocks/struts but what else?

what is the end goal of this cobra does he want it to go down the dragstrip or take corners?

I know he is not looking for an all out drag car but I he wants to be able to corner well and not sacrifice time on his ETs

I'd recommend coil-overs, adjustable control arms, tubular K-member, maybe a bump-steer kit, and sub-frame connectors.

Maximum Motorsports makes a nice system. Griggs racing is expensive, but makes an awesome suspension system. It all depends on what he wants to spend and how much time he has to put into his car

Thanks for the help.

I guess I should have started off with this...

What exactly makes a suspension an independant rear suspension?

its not a solid rear axle. the wheels can go up and down independently.

I'm doing an IRS swap in feb in to my GT and I'm hoping to do a MM front coil over kit to make a great handling car. I've driven a car with this setup and its amazing!

This winter suspension...next year motor

Seriously, call Maximum Motorsports and tell them your budget, they will help you out and their quality is top notch. They have a number of decent upgrades to make the IRS much less sloppy. Do this first before you go out and start buying springs/struts/shocks/swaybars... etc.
