Default Hood Scoop

Has anyone tried taking out the fake black part of the stock hood scoop on gts (01 and up) and cutting the inner part of the hood to make it functional-and by functional i mean as a way to cool down the engine bay?I think even just taking out the fake black part would amke these cars so much nicer looking-but that's just me. Any suggestions...

I wouldn't do it.This will allow rain and dirt to get directly onto the engine and this can't do any good.To help cool the engine Cervini, and probably some others, make hoods that allow air to flow out through openings in the rear of the hood close to the windshield.I've thought about turning the hood scoop around and using it to hide a shift light. This would take quite a bit of work to make it look right but it would be different.

Yeah-I've been thinking about puttin a tach right on the hood and covering with some sorta rigged up idea too. Why can't they build these cars with rally pacs anymore!

i forget which ones, i know saleen has one, but there are lots of cowl hoods that are open from behind to let heat out. cowl hoods look sick on 94-04 stangs. i wouldnt put the tach on the hood, plenty of room inside the car and a lot easier.
