Default RE: Why not Ford?

I was pretty upset with ford. For a V8 4.6 liter engine and they can only make like 260?? Honda can make that with half the displacement. For such a large engine, why so little power? They should of kept up with GM and made more power.

ford is going to make a car that will make them the most money not the most hp they could make a faster car but mustangs have always been the most for your money type car not just the fastest money can buy type car they got the ford gt for that there not trying to make something fast for $35000 or $40000 at the cheapest sales would be to low the v6s sell for around $20000 and its a great car for the price and fords sales show that gm messed up when they tried to just out hp the mustangs they missed the point.

Evolutions are good on the road course and 0-60 times are sweet but after they are moving they are not impressive. From a roll it is very easy to see that the AWD is eating some major HP.

Just to add to previous posts keep in mind that from 82-02 the F-Bodies weighed more too so they needed more engine to compete. In the mid 80's early 90's the 5.7 TPI and 5.0 TPI G92 was needed to keep on par with the 5.0 GT/LX. In 1993 GM got tired of playing second best and went with the LT1. The LT1 F-Bodies were high 13 to low 14 second cars. In 1998 GM pulled the ultimate card and went with the LS1 which put the F-Bodies in the very low 13's.

But all of the horsepower in the world wouldn't have saved the F-Body. The late WS6 had neat commercials but they still didn't market the F-Body worth a damn.
Sorry... very wrong...I am a 98 cobra (my new baby) and evo owner....An Evo 9 with a TBE (exhaust) MBC (manual boost controller) and a Tune goes mid 12s without much effort and with bad driving...with race gace and cams its high 11s !!...all that is $600-1200 total (from ebay) and anyone can do it in there garage...if you keep the evo in its power band (aka down shift) you overcome lag and keep the revs high...so lag is no issue on the highway OR drag racing since it has launch control ( the evo comunity calls it the 2 step)....in traffic its OK but nothing hurts the fun.

your statement was so uneducated and wrong my friend....I am not an Evo fan boy at all...I am just in it for performance..and part of beeing performance oriented is respecting every cars potential....if you have the money you can make anything fast...but the Evo is Japane's 03-04 cobra when it comes to bolt ons.

BTW...my evo runs high 9s with slicks...take it from a guy who actually OWNS the car.

About the gt issue....build it and spray..good bang for the buck[sm=nxsmile.gif]
