RE: No Cats, No o2
You need an O2 sensor. It's just not removable. Unless you want to rock a CEL for the entire life of the engine, which not might be long if you run lean for any period of time.
Cats - screw cats, that is if you live in an area that has no inspections.

SilverGTV8, Thanks for the reply. To make sure I understand. In order for the computer to manage the engine correctly, it will NEED to have o2 sensors "up front" and another set " in back" with MILs OR disabled with a tune. If I choose to disable the rear o2's with a programable tune, do the o2 sensors have to be present? Can I just run one set of o2's with a disable tune for the rears and not actually install them? Do the MILs work without the sensors present? This car will never be subject to emissions inspections. The exhaust will be custom from the headers back.

You only need the front O2s if you disable the rear via a tune. You will need the rear ones if you are not going to disable them via tune. But you can't run the stock style with no cats or the ECU will throw a code so you need to install MILs.
The MILs come in two types. Full replacement and splice in. I strongly recommend the full replacment. They are worth the extra bux and create less of headache.
If you install a set of LT style headers you may have a cycleing ssue with the front O2s (not making temp) and that will throw a code. You can wrap the header with some header rap near the end to help contain the heat a bit longer or you can have the tune include a longer cycle on the front O2s. But not every car has an issue with the front O2s on a LT set-up.
