^On that note I say go get the GT500, and when you're old enough to be scared to push the gas pedal down, go buy the vette, just like everyone else does.
Corvette=Cadillac
GT500=Sportscar

Hey, hey....No picking on the Cadillac, that's the Mrs' new car. CTS-V with LS2 motor, watch out cause the Caddy is fast and smooth. I am not giving up on Ford, I still have my Mustang for a toy. Besides, if I were to just go crazy and spend whatever on a new car...I would get a Ford GT, but it is out of my price range.
Not picking on the Cadillac at all, I think they make some great cars, I just live in old ville central and thats all you see around here, I didn't know you planned on keeping the Mustang, I thought it was for sell. If you are keeping it are you going to get it a bottle? It's kind of funny to hear someone say they are going to get a Z06 for a daily driver and have a Mustang for a toy!!

I was getting ready to say I thought the tranny in Corvettes is supposedly one of the best ever, but I've never heard anyything about the manual tranny.

Thought about that, but I have a feeling like someone else posted, the dealers are gonna jack up the price of the GT500 well above the $45k sticker price.

I would definately rather have the GT500, I don't even care which one is faster. Id just rather have the GT500 Cobra over a Corvette. Corvettes have this old person stigma with them in my mind, don't get me wrong I would love a Z06, I would just rather have the GT500 Cobra that's all. Either way he goes, he is getting one hell of a badass car! I think its mostly just my Ford vs Chevy bias, I like Ford better. hehe And if I'm not mistake the new Cobra is live axle in the back(YAY!), whereas the Z06 somehow has a Transaxle in the back....which completely confuses me since I was under the impression inorder to be a "transaxle" the axles must come directly out of the tranny. In order for that to be possible the tranny would have to be in the back of the car, yet somehow the engine is still in the front of the car? WEIRD! Anyway....Live Axle > IRS!! Good luck with whatever you get Code!
In newer Corvettes the transmission is in the back, power is transferred from the engine via a torque tube to the transmission.

Well the vette will be my primary car, but I have a DD for bad weather days. As far as the Mustang, it's killing me lying on my back, with all my Christmas goodies lying around. I am gonna try and see how well I can do N/A. I think a bud of mine is gonna pick my car up and install my mods.

Are you people kidding... get the z06, my god. All the videos show that it takes about a 550rwhp to run with a stock one in an 03 cobra. The new fat pig (shelby gt500) is not going to be lighter.

Plus the z06 looks 1 millions better... put them side by side in person, the gt500 looks like a POS commuter car. I'll post some pics of NAIAS in a few days.

Oh also, the vette can go around turns.
