Plasma Booster

RE: Plasma Booster
There is a little difference between a 69 impala and a 99-05 mustnag 4.6... well more then a little.. a lot!!!
Anyway, if the ignition system is so inefficient then I don’t think Ford would have put it in our cars... it does just fine for a stock car.... if you start to mess with the fuel/air then you might need to upgrade to a better ignition system. Other then that if you running a stock set up... just upgrade you spark plug wires and spark plugs and you will be good to go and you will notice a difference with this simple upgrade.

RE: Plasma Booster
I know. I'm just sayin that it is an actual benefit on older cars. But on newer ones, you're pushin 20kV of spark, so they are pretty good to begin. And yeah, unless your car is totally tricked out the stock ignition setup is fine. Just get a set of quality plugs and wires on there and you are good.
I love the impala... you can live in the engine compartment. :-) family project car
the mustang = MY project.
have a great one all

RE: Plasma Booster
Hey everyone I actually have the Plasma Booster on my car! Here's my $.02 on it. You are NOT going to feel a major difference in rwhp with this modification. it did seem to smooth out my power delivery albeit 'slighty.' My car didn't seem to pull any harder, but rather it pulled smoother. it also seemed as if it revved a little easier too. Again nothing substaintial. What I did notice that was a substantial gain was it helped me to bring my gas milage back up a bit! For the price I paid for it, if I have saved a few miles per gallon each tank, the mod has already paid for itself. Hope this helps you guys out. For the record, I'd buy it again.

RE: Plasma Booster
You might want to hold off on any purchase yet. Mr. Gasket/JacobsElectronics has just come out with replacement coils for the ignition systems that have the coil on the plug setup. they are sold in a set of 8. Part number is 321992.
I spoke to a rep this morning, who stated that the part has not been released yet for general sale, but should be at anytime. Their website is WWW.Jacobselectronics.com
Hope this helps, I am definately waiting for this product to hit the market.
