Default RE: Stall converter?

Every Torque converter has a stall. The stock converter is a little tight so when you get on the gas the converter will stop slipping at a lower rpm than a high stall converter. A higher stall will slip more and get you into a higher rpm closer to your max torqe giving you a better launch. Precision industries makes the best converter on the market. It has been suggested to me numerous times to get a Precision industries 3000 stall converter by many people. Even the guy who designed the 4r70w trans. If you call precision ind. they will guid you through and give you sugestions. If you buy a HP converter it would be custom built for your car. I've been talking to alot of people about this. I've talked to Art Carr, Precision ind, the guy who designed the 4r70w trans, and today I talked to a very knoledgable tuner at Reinhart Peformance. Good luck, it's been confusing for me so far because there is a lock up clutch in the converter also that has to be taken into consideration.
